Q. What mobility aids can you provide?

Our ships carry a limited number of items which are subject to availability and must be ordered in advance by selecting the appropriate option on the Accessibility and Medical medical and mobility questionnaire, if you have not received a questionnaire please call your booking agent or by calling our Customer Contact Centre please visit our website for contact details. We are able to provide the following basic items on a first come, first served basis:

Bath benches / bath seat / shower chair / shower stools / raised toilet seat

All the equipment has a maximum user weight limit if 30st, apart from the shower stools which are 15 stone.

A limited number of wireless visual alert systems and texphones are available on board. The textphone system is subject to the availability of telephone lines on board. The textphone will also enable us to alert you to any important announcements concerning your cruise and in the event of an emergency. Please note the visual alert system, will reduce surface space in your cabin.

 

All accessible cabins feature a fixed shower seat in the wetroom as standard.

Toilet seats
Toilet seats can vary between 42 - 48 cm high, this includes wheelchair accessible cabins.

 

Raised toilet seats

Adapted staterooms have hand rails which may be of use to you should you require these facilities. For further information on the location of the hand rails please email disability@carnivalukgroup.com or alternatively please call our Customer Contact Centre, please visit our website for contact details.

Unfortunately, we are unable to add any additional grab rails in the cabin bathroom.  We are unable to provide cabin hoists, commodes or any other mobility equipment that is not listed above.  You are not permitted to bring your own bed/mattress or other items of furniture on board due to the legislative requirements relating to fire of soft furnishings. All electrical items must comply with the requirements of each ship's supply.

Please note that the availability and specification of equipment may vary from ship to ship and that you or your travelling companion are responsible for keeping any requested items clean.


Equipment Hire 

 

P&O Cruises recommended supplier, Mobility at Sea, provide a number of different items for hire including items tailored to specific mobility requirements or sizes. Mobility at Sea can be contacted on 0800 328 1699. All items are subject to availability and must be ordered and paid for in advance, if we are unable to provide any of the above items you may contact Mobility at Sea or alternatively bring your own.

 

If you are making independent equipment hire arrangements, including the rental of wheelchairs or mobility scooters, you must not leave any equipment unattended under any circumstance within the terminal area or on board.  P&O Cruises take no responsibility for unattended items.
