Q. What facilities can I expect in an accessible cabin?

Adonia

If you are travelling on Adonia, please be aware that this ship is not equipped with a low-level ramped gangway and that all access to the quayside is by a narrow stepped gangway. For this reason, guests heavily reliant on the use of a wheelchair or mobility scooter will be severely restricted in embarking or disembarking at ports of call. In addition Adonia guests need to negotiate approximately nine steps down to the pontoon in order to board the tender.

Throughout the ship a number of raised thresholds which may cause challenges for wheelchair and scooter users and additional assistance may be required on board.

Adonia offers a small number of accessible cabins for people with disabilities. These cabins offer:

  • Wide doorways into the cabin and bathroom
  • Sufficient floor space for wheelchair manoeuvrability
  • Accessible cabin safe
  • Ramped access to the balcony (in balcony only cabins)
  • Wet room style shower rooms with a flush threshold into the cabin (with the exception of Suites and Mini suites which offer a bath as well as a wet room shower).
  • Grab rails for shower and toilet.
  • Fixed or pull down shower chair
  • Emergency pull cords
  • Adonia’s accessible cabins usable door width is 84 cm.

If you have sailed on any of our other ships you may find the bathroom smaller than the equivalent on some other ships. Wheelchair users therefore may require more assistance than normal to manoeuvre once inside.

Accessible bathrooms on Adonia are smaller than the equivalent on some other P&O Cruises ships so wheelchair users may also require more assistance than usual to manoeuvre once inside.

Please note the Sky Deck is not accessible for wheelchair users, steps must be negotiated to access this deck.
