Q. Will I need to apply for an ESTA Approval and will I need to take a printed copy with me on holiday?

If you are travelling to the US, a US Territory (St. Thomas, San Juan and Hawaii) or your flight involves a fuel stop in the US, you must obtain ESTA approval at least 72 hours prior to arrival. In addition there is a requirement to be in possession of a biometric passport (or E-Passport) when travelling to the USA under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP).

Applications for ESTA can be applied for at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov, alternatively you can contact our visa supplier, CIBT  (telephone on 0207 620 6487 who will be happy to assist you.

Please be advised that the USA have now set the fee for an ESTA at USD$14.00 per person, however this is subject to change.

If you are a non-British citizen passport holder, be sure to check entry requirements for the US with the US Embassy. Once your ESTA is authorised this is valid for 2 years.  For British Subject passport holders, you must obtain a full US visa.

Taking a printed copy

Kindly present at check-in, a copy of your ESTA confirmation as evidence for Immigration purposes. Please ensure the information on your ESTA confirmation matches your passport information. In addition there is a requirement to be in possession of a biometric passport (or E-Passport) when travelling to the USA under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP).

Please note, you will be unable to enter the USA under the VWP unless you have obtained an ESTA prior to travel.

Important – you must be in possession of your ESTA prior to boarding the vessel.
